Our story
Dedicated to sustainable practices in the ship recycling sector
MARHAZ was founded in 2018 by Svend Boes Overgaard (CTD) and Dr. Frank Stuer-Lauridsen (LITEHAUZ) focusing on developing quality IHMs for the maritime sector. Together they brought over 40 years of combined maritime experience and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable and safe ship recycling to MARHAZ.
In 2024, CTD and Litehauz consolideat all their other ship recycling activities into MARHAZ, creating a fullsuite service company dedicated to service all ship recycling aspects and all stakeholders of the valuechain.
MARHAZ combines deep technical expertise with modern digital tools, cultural insight, and knowledge of diverse recycling methodologies to deliver smarter, safer, and more effective environmental compliance.

Certified and Approved
At MARHAZ, we operate under the ISO 17020 management system and work exclusively with accredited laboratories that comply with EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 or equivalent standards.
We are an approved service supplier with DNV for IHM work and Certified by Bureau Veritas and authorised by the Danish Safety Technology Authority to conduct asbestos removal, ensuring that our work meet the highest standards.
If you're in need of IHM services and your preferred classification society is not listed here, do not worry, our RO approval will be recognised by all other ROs, there is no need for additional RO approvals than the one we got.
