Our Story
Dedicated to sustainable maritime practices
MARHAZ was founded in 2018 by Svend Boes Overgaard (CTD) and Dr. Frank Stuer-Lauridsen (LITEHAUZ), with a focus on developing high-quality IHMs for the maritime sector. Together, they brought more than 40 years of combined maritime experience and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable, safe ship recycling to MARHAZ
In 2024, CTD and Litehauz consolidated all their remaining ship recycling activities into MARHAZ, establishing a full-service company dedicated to covering all aspects of ship recycling and supporting all stakeholders across the value chain.
MARHAZ combines deep technical expertise with modern digital tools, cultural insight, and knowledge of diverse recycling methodologies to deliver smarter, safer, and more effective environmental compliance.

Certified and approved
At MARHAZ, we operate under the ISO 17020 management system and work exclusively with accredited laboratories that comply with EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 or equivalent standards.
We are an approved service supplier with DNV, recognised by Marshall Islands, and provide inspections and IHM services that meet the highest international standards.
If your classification society is not listed, don’t worry. All ROs will accept our DNV approval, there is no need to obtain further approvals in order for us to be compliant to conduct the work for you regardless of which RO you normally use.
